48 - SyFy Movie Concept - J.F. Hire

-Scene 8, Act 4-

"JORGE! OH, god, Jorge. I didn't think we'd make it! They were everywhere! And they knew our ever move! Are you okay? Where's Bev? BEEEVVV!"

"Sweetie... Bev... Bev is the one who stopped them."

They embrace, and Jorge hugs Julia tightly, letting her sob into his slightly cut shoulder.

"Oh, Jorge... Bev is a hero..."

She gasps, pulling away from him, frozen to the spot-- pointing to a space just over his shoulder.

He looks, and gasps as well, another dog-sized cockroach has appeared. It's business suit is torn, and the wounds to his torso are certainly life-threatening. It hobbles toward the pair of them, wheezing.

"Help... Me..."

It speaks, the flagpin on its lapel falling off.

Jorge steps forward with a pole, ripped from a houseflag in an earlier scene, and spits at the giant cockroach that they all once called Commander In Chief.

"I would, sir."

He skewers the bug in one fell swoop-- Julia swooning behind him.

"But you just bug me."

-Credits roll.-

-------

"Adam! Mister Johns! How did you come up with this story?!"

One reporter pushes another aside at the red carpet.

"Sir! DID YOU EXPECT IT TO BE SUCH A HIT!?"

Adam Johns begins to adjust his novelty flag pin, nodding to photographers, the actress who played Julie at his side.

In an interview later that night, he's talking to Diane Sawyer. There's bitterness to her voice, while he smiles for the camera with one side of his mouth.

"So, what's next for you? For the maker of When Roaches Took Over The Government."

"Well, Diane. I suspect some contracts to come through and... Not to name any names-- but let's just say that everyone should be keeping a close eye out for part two-- And we're all out of bubble-gum."

He smiles, as if the joke is clear to Diane-- who is just ready for commercial to roll.

----

Abby turns off the TV, turning to her mom.

"So, sure... I haven't seen the movie, I don't know what all the fuss is about, but that guy bugs me."

Her mom, having seen the movie, giggles knowingly.

"W-what? What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing, you should see it, though. It'll probably be around longer than you think."

Now they both chuckle, shaking their heads, and waiting for something worth-while to come on the SyFy channel.
